United For Housing & Development Company

The United Housing and Development Company is one of the oldest companies operating in the real estate sector in Egypt. The company was established by special decree during 1907 under the name (Al-Qabari Lands Company), then its name was changed in January 1965 to become (The United Housing and Development Company), an Egyptian joint-stock company, after the merger of five other companies with it, namely the Egyptian Works Company for Building and Agricultural Lands, the Egyptian Real Estate Joint-Stock Company, the Alexandria Real Estate Company, the Lower Egypt Real Estate Company, and the Al-Suyouf Real Estate Joint-Stock Company. The company later became subject to the provisions of Law No. 159 of 1981, and the United Housing and Development Company was privatized in 1996.
