General Authority of Customs
(Google reviews: 3.8 | Number of reviews: 67)Import and Export Company in Doha
Qatar’s customs framework aims to facilitate trade through clear processes, procedures, and defined tariffs. At the heart of this framework is the “Nadeeb” system, a sophisticated digital platform that simplifies import and export procedures, ensuring smooth business operations. These efforts reflect Qatar’s commitment to fostering a robust and seamless trade environment.
The General Authority of Customs (GAC) is the government body responsible for monitoring and enforcing all import and export regulations, working closely with other public and private agencies to ensure compliance with customs legislation in Qatar. GAC’s jurisdiction extends throughout the country’s territory and territorial waters, not just within customs administration zones.
Since 2018, GAC, in conjunction with the Qatar Chamber and the International Chamber of Commerce, has implemented the Temporary Admission of Goods (TAG) system. This international customs document allows for the import and export of certain goods, subject to temporary taxation and exempt from customs duties, for up to one year. Qatar is a long-standing member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Customs Union, and a signatory to the GCC Unified Economic Agreement.
