Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC)

The Saudi Water Partnership Company is a government company wholly owned by the Ministry of Finance in Saudi Arabia, acting as a “primary buyer” for all types of water. It acts as an intermediary between the public and private sectors by offering and managing water and sanitation projects, such as water desalination and wastewater treatment, in partnership with private sector developers.
Within Cabinet Resolution No. (494) dated 8/5/1438 AH, the company’s scope of work - as a major water buyer - was expanded to include the purchase of desalinated, purified, treated and untreated water in addition to dual production, and His Excellency the Minister of Finance provided the necessary credit support to the company to support its financial solvency to enable it to sign long-term purchase contracts within the framework of the principles contained in Cabinet Resolution No. (181) dated 6/9/1425 AH, in accordance with the terms and conditions determined by His Excellency the Minister of Finance, and the transfer Full ownership of the company is vested in the government, with agreement on corporate governance and contracted projects.
