Dubai Supreme Council of Energy

Under the forward-looking guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 was developed at the end of
2010 and launched in 2011 to define Dubai's strategic direction towards securing sustainable energy and improving efficiency in demand (water, energy, and fuel used for transportation).

The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy is considered the governing body tasked with planning and coordinating with relevant authorities and entities to find new energy sources while adopting a balanced approach to environmental protection.

Vision: To become a global model for energy security and efficiency.

Mission: To support Dubai's economic growth by securing and providing sustainable energy supplies and their optimal use while preserving the environment – as follows:

• Effective planning of the energy sector.

• Developing an integrated plan to secure energy supplies and activating optimal use to ensure sustainable growth in the Emirate of Dubai.

• Ensuring sustainability in energy supplies to the Emirate of Dubai while preserving the environment.

• Rationalizing energy consumption and ensuring environmental sustainability.

• Planning and facilitating the implementation of strategic initiatives, managing energy demand, and supply options in line with diversifying energy sources.

• Establishing a governance structure aligned with current energy practices within the entities under the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy to enhance efforts in optimal energy use.
