Dubai Community Development Authority

The Community Development Authority was established by a decree from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in July 2008. Since its inception, the Authority has been responsible for regulating and developing the frameworks for social development in the Emirate.  Its responsibilities include  elevating the standards of social services in the Emirate of Dubai, adopting an innovative approach to serve various segments of society: families, youth approaching marriage, senior citizens, people of determination, civil society "public benefit organizations," protecting the rights of the most vulnerable groups, and enhancing citizens' and residents' awareness of national identity, fostering a culture of volunteering, and activating the role of community responsibility.   The Community Development Authority works on formulating social policies and strategic plans that enhance protection, care, social empowerment, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all segments of society. This is achieved by setting the necessary policies, controls, and standards for social service providers, based on its strategic pillars that involve engaging stakeholders in its services, strengthening relationships with them, developing programs and initiatives, and providing social services to the Emirate's citizens in collaboration with relevant entities to achieve the main goals of the development sector and develop the necessary infrastructure.   The Authority believes in the necessity of adopting innovative solutions and treatments and developing high-quality, flexible social policies and legislation that keep pace with future needs, contributing to ensuring social and family stability and the sustainability of community prosperity and cohesion.
