The dawn of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority broke in 1996, tasked with the mission of enhancing commercial and tourism activities and events in the Emirate of Sharjah. The Authority strives to develop these sectors by organizing numerous events and activities, elevating the emirate's name high on the local, regional, and global levels.

The Authority leads the necessary operations and events to achieve its goals by setting strategic plans aimed at developing the tourism sector in all its aspects, defining the general policies for participation in local, regional, and international exhibitions, all for one singular goal—elevating the Emirate of Sharjah as a fertile environment for foreign investments.

Furthermore, the Authority works to adapt all means and utilize all methods capable of introducing tourists to the unique advantages of the Emirate of Sharjah, placing it among the most important tourist destinations locally, regionally, and globally. It also participates internationally in many events and activities to position the emirate on the global commercial and tourism map.
