Family Development Department and Branches

The Family Development Department and its branches, one of the institutions of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, was established in 2000. It specialized in the family and worked to deepen the bonds of family cohesion, preserve the family entity and its identity, and support the system of values that uphold it.

Through our mission, we strive for the stability and cohesion of the family, which is our task and responsibility towards society. We are supported by the inspiring leader, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs. Our centers in Sharjah and its affiliated areas (Central and Eastern Regions) are enriched with a selection of qualified professional cadres and competencies, along with high-quality capabilities that keep pace with the needs and requirements of the family to ensure its stability in a cohesive society.

The Research and Studies Section in the Department of Family Studies and Information conducts opinion surveys, social and family research, and studies that support the Social Risk Record (the Human Pattern Study Project in the Emirate of Sharjah). It identifies the most important methods and approaches to address social phenomena, causes, and prevalent social and family problems in the Emirate of Sharjah, aiming to analyze them and present them to specialists and experts in the social, family, psychological, and educational fields, both within and outside the institution. The results of these studies serve as an entry point for therapeutic and preventive activities and programs, as well as adaptation programs to reduce the impact of these phenomena in society. The department also forms a statistical and knowledge database from related studies, research, and periodicals, classifying them to make them available to specialists upon request.
