The Nama Foundation for Women's Advancement (Nama) was established in 2015 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Sharjah, and is chaired by the spouse of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi.

At the "Nama" Foundation, we are committed to mobilizing the necessary means to create favorable environments for promoting gender equality and inclusive economic and social growth. The efforts of the Nama Foundation stem from its core philosophy that advancing women is a prerequisite for achieving sustainable development in countries.

Through its three branches, namely the Sharjah Business Women Council, the Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council, and the Badiri Education and Development Academy, the Nama Foundation designs and implements initiatives that support women in the economic, professional, and social sectors.

Nama also collaborates with grassroots and international organizations as part of its comprehensive approach to developing an ecosystem where women's potential is fully realized.
