The Asir Region Development Authority was officially established to oversee the planning and implementation of the regional development strategy for the Asir region.
The Authority aims to achieve integrated regional development and ensure effective coordination among development stakeholders and the high-quality execution of major infrastructure projects in the region.
Our vision is to make Asir a leading global destination year-round, where everyone draws inspiration from the harmony between preserving Asir's culture and unique nature and its progress.
Tourism is our priority. We primarily cater to the needs of the Saudi middle-class tourist in the tourism sector, ensuring integration with other destinations. This is complemented by international visits.
Asir possesses a unique set of diverse and distinguished cultural and natural assets across five geographical layers; from the coast to the mountains to the desert. Leveraging our natural and cultural assets, we have identified 5 distinct tourism development areas.
We will build a mix of affordable assets and luxury flagship projects. The projects of the Public Investment Fund will play a crucial role as premium anchor assets and have been considered in Asir's strategy.
We will attract 8.6 million visits in 2030 through the Asir strategy - representing three times the current number of leisure visits. Growth primarily stems from domestic leisure tourism and international tourism.
