The King Khalid Foundation was established in 1421 AH, corresponding to 2001 AD, in the city of Riyadh. The foundation strives to achieve its vision of a Saudi society where opportunities are equal and it pursues prosperity by activating the role of stakeholders in development and empowering them through social investment, capacity building, and advocacy. The King Khalid Foundation aims to build the capacities of development stakeholders so they can perform their roles and fulfill their mission more effectively and with sustainable impact through the capacity-building program. The second objective is policy design and advocacy, which seeks to address the shortcomings in the social protection system and the lack of equal opportunities for vulnerable groups in the Kingdom through studies, collection, and analysis of documented evidence, in addition to raising awareness and mobilizing support to positively influence decision-making. The third objective is providing grants through the social investment program to improve the living standards of vulnerable groups. The foundation offers two types of grants: 1. Grants provided to organizations 2. Social entrepreneurship grants for business incubators.
