In the year 1418 AH, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Majeed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God have mercy on him – inaugurated the Cardiology Department, making it the first specialized department in this field in the Madinah region, which became a destination for many patients from various parts of the Kingdom and neighboring countries. It is credited, after God Almighty, with eliminating the suffering of many individuals with heart diseases, who were previously waiting for medical evacuation flights and securing spots in hospitals outside the Madinah area.
In the year 1424 AH, on the occasion of the hospital's twenty-fifth anniversary, His Royal Highness Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz inaugurated the new Emergency Department, which houses the latest examination and surgical equipment, along with emergency ambulance vehicles.
