At Afnya, we strive to create a critical dialogue at the national level, not only through the works we present but also by directly contributing intellectually to the formation of this systematic architectural critique that can build the knowledge model. The conviction we have reached during our long learning journey with people in the field of architectural design is that exchanging ideas with people on one hand and transforming them into an intellectual debate at the national level represents a continuous source for experimenting with and developing ideas. And because we realize that creating such an intellectual climate requires examples that can be demonstrated in systematic architectural analysis and deconstruction, we have taken into account establishing this national intellectual network and building it gradually by presenting ideas publicly and participating in the creativity of young Saudi architectural minds through involvement in education.
At the intellectual and professional level, we see that open architecture can achieve what we call the advancement of contemporary Saudi architecture. The concept of progress, as viewed by the philosopher (Kant), is linked to the mechanism (containment and transcendence), meaning the containment of the current intellectual debate and architectural practice resulting from it and overcoming them in a completely new intellectual debate and architectural concept that is practiced. The mechanism introduced by (Kant) relates to the concept of a qualitative leap, and we believe that this cognitive shift is fundamentally connected to enhancing moments of inspiration among Saudi architects and the ability of the Saudi architectural audience to accept and seek new ideas. What we aim for is to align the architectural awareness of designers and architectural practitioners so that the new architectural knowledge model is accepted in the subconscious of the professional community and shaped as part of the society's aesthetic values and taste.
